Well all good things must come to an end.

That's right it's over...

NO! I'm not going out of business, but the lease is up on my mobile studio, i.e. my truck. So, it's with a bittersweet feeling that I say goodbye to my old mobile "studio" and hello to the new.

So keep an eye out for the new truck, as it helps me to continue to bring the creativity to you!

Congrats Harrington Middle School on another successful Empty Bowls project!

The bistro was a huge success! The kids in the "We Care" class ran a wonderful dinner and raised over $1600 for the SJ Food Bank! Way to go and I cannot wait for next year!!

Thank you for taking a moment to visit and read my blog.

Being a mobile studio I don't get to see and talk to my customers everyday; so this is one way I can keep you updated with what is happening.

I've had a very busy September, starting with the Annual CCSA Convention. This year the convention was held in Phoenix, AZ at the lovely Arizona Biltmore. Over 250 ceramic studios from around the world were in attendance and it was wonderful to see old friends and meet new ones. I'm working now on implementing many of the new ideas I learned during the various classes that were offered.

One of the many things I love about being part of the CCSA is how dedicated the organization and it's members are to supporting Breast Cancer Research. Every year at the convention an auction is held and the proceeds raised are donated to a breast cancer charity/foundation. This year we switched from the Susan G. Koman foundation to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. The various studio owners and suppliers, who attend the convention, donate an item they created to the auction - some pieces take over 80 hours to create! Most of the items are bid on through the silent auction, with a select few going to the live auction - which is always a blast! This year we raised over $33,000 in a single evening!

One surprise I received at the convention came during the member meeting. During that meeting, the president of the CCSA, Sandi Kirkwood, presented me with the President's Award for "Consistently and Effectively Promoting the Ceramic Industry". I was completely shocked and deeply honored to be recognized by my peers.

Later in the month, I was also fortunate to once again participate in the Empty Bowls project that the "We Care" class at Harrington Middle School, in Mt. Laurel, NJ, will host. Kids and teachers painted over 100 bowls that will be sold during their dinner event on October 29th, to raise money for the SJ Food Bank.
